The discount loan is a type of short-term loan that will give you access to the cash of your business receivables. Komerční banka Bratislava discounts the inland bills of exchange (due in the territory of the Slovak Republic), as well as the foreign bills of exchange (due outside the territory of the Slovak Republic) drawn in EUR or foreign currencies.
The bank discounts the bills of exchange under the condition that it will be settled upon the due date and the eventual recovery of its settlement via the bill court will be the duty of a discount applicant.
Accepted for discounts are only the bills of exchange that conform to the valid commercial terms of Komerční banka Bratislava, i.e. the recognized bills of exchange shall be:
- trade bills of exchange (B/E)
- B/E from KB Bratislava clients
- only daily/fixed B/E
- those with remaining time to maturity generally 1 to 6 months (in case of a foreign B/E, 1 to 12 months)
- those amounting to at least 8.000 EUR / 241.008 SKK*
- inland B/E containing a "no protest clause" which liberates its owner (the bank) from the liability to protest the B/E in the case of its dishonoring,
- drawn in foreign currency - containing the effective clause for the cases when the currency of the B/E differs from the currency of the payment place.
* using conversion rate 1 EUR = 30,1260 SKK
Based on a discount loan agreement, the bank is entitled to encumber the applicant's account by the discount equal to the unsettled B/E amount, if the discount B/E will not be settled by an accepter on the due date.
